My name is Joe Stewart. I'm a designer and Founding Partner of Work & Co.

We are a digital product company focused on making things people use every day.

In just five years, Work & Co has grown to nearly 250 employees across 3 offices in New York, Portland, & São Paulo; and satellite offices in San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro and Belgrade.

Fast Company named Work & Co to its 10 Most Innovative Companies in Design list. We've also been named to the AdAge A-List for the last 3 years.

Since founding Work & Co, my personal client list at includes Apple, YouTube, Target, Virgin America, Alaska Airlines, Philz Coffee, & Rapha.

My most often cited public work is the award-winning website & app for Virgin America. I designed it with Felipe Memoria, and their logo with Jesse McMillin. That work won Cannes Lions, Clios, Webbys (3 years in a row), The Pixel Awards, & took the Grand Prize at The UX Awards.

Currently, I'm working on several projects for Apple.

I was named to the Fast Company Most Creative People in Business.

Net Magazine named me one of the Top 50 Web Designers.

I've been a design juror for SXSW Interactive Awards, The Webby Awards, Fast Company Innovation by Design Awards, Cannes, & The Pixel Awards.

And, I hold 3 patents for my work shared by Apple, Google, & Target.

My work has been featured in Communication Arts, Wired Magazine, How Magazine, Fast Company, Net Magazine, Creative Review, Ad Age, Ad Week, The New York Times, & on

I'm often asked to give talks at design conferences, and have spoken at Design Week Portland, Collision, Creative Mornings, The Delight Conference, among others.

In my spare time I design record covers. I've created several for my brother Jamie's band, Xiu Xiu, among others.

Before Work & Co, I was a Partner & the global head of creative at Huge.

I'm lucky enough to be the age where I have only ever been a digital designer, versus coming from another design medium. I started my career in 1998 at the age of 19, and I am now 39.

I'm not on social media. Feel free to email me.
